The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is the school’s lead practitioner and primary point of contact for all Child Protection and Safeguarding matters. The role is responsible for ensuring the strategic integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of safeguarding practices across all campuses. The DSL provides expert guidance on complex safeguarding cases, supports campus safeguarding teams, and ensures safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented in line with recognised international and local standards. The DSL also provides strategic advice to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and works collaboratively with external agencies and partners to safeguard the well-being of children and young people. Candidates should have the following:
Qualifications and Experience
•Significant professional experience in safeguarding leadership or child protection roles.
•Experience working within a school environment, preferably in a multi-campus or international setting.
•In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection frameworks, and best practice safeguarding procedures.
•Experience applying trauma-informed and evidence-based safeguarding approaches.

Skills and Competencies
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external partners.
•Strong analytical and decision-making skills when responding to complex safeguarding situations.
•Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
•Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities and projects.
•Confidence in making professional safeguarding decisions and providing clear guidance to others.
•Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within safeguarding practice.
