We are seeking a dynamic and approachable School Counsellor with experience in UK or international school environments and a strong commitment to student wellbeing. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member who builds positive, effective partnerships with parents and teachers, and is dedicated to supporting every child to flourish across all areas of the curriculum. The school counselor will work closely with the pastoral teams, SENCO and Safeguarding Leads to provide the best possible support for students and families.
Position Requirements:
Registered or licensed to practice under a counselling/psychotherapy governing body such as BACP, ACA or APA
Holds qualifications in counselling, psychotherapy or clinical psychology which includes the completion of 100 counselling hours
Experience in child & adolescent counselling
A highly motivated individual who can take the lead on setting up a highly effective counseling program within our school
Problem solving mindset and up for the challenge of working in the context of limited local resources
Flexible, adaptable and resilient character
Experience of counseling within a school environment is beneficial but not essential
Opening in 1996, the school now caters for around 450 students aged 2-18 years of age, from over 30 nationalities. They offer the best of international learning integrating the British curriculum with the inquiry based IB. The Early Years follow the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum alongside the Primary Years Programme (PYP) which they also follow in the Primary Section. Key Stage 3 British National Curriculum, combined with elements of the IB Middle Years Programme, is offered in Years 7-9, and in Years 10-11, the IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13.
The school also offers over 80 extra-curricular activities and clubs each term including sports, arts and music, a comprehensive English as an Additional Language programme for second language English speakers, and a variety of support for children with different needs.
