An experienced and dynamic Lower Secondary Maths and Computer Science Teacher is sought to teach Grades 6–8 (Years 7–9), delivering high-quality lessons in both subjects and supporting students’ learning and development. The role also includes a form tutor responsibility, providing pastoral guidance and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom community. The ideal candidate is a collaborative educator who is committed to creating an engaging, student-centred learning environment. Applicants must be fully qualified teachers (holding a relevant BA plus PGCE, BEd, or equivalent) with a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at the lower secondary level.

- Living in Lao Cai as a Western expat is quiet, low-key, and very much about lifestyle rather than entertainment. Day-to-day life revolves around local markets, cafés, and simple routines, with weekends often spent escaping into nature — hiking in the mountains, visiting Sapa, or exploring nearby villages and border scenery. There’s a small expat presence, mostly teachers, so social life tends to be tight-knit but limited, and you won’t find much in the way of nightlife, Western food, or big-city conveniences. English isn’t widely spoken, which can be challenging but also rewarding if you enjoy cultural immersion.
