An experienced Learning Support Teacher is needed at a highly regarded bilingual international school in Shanghai. The school opened in September 2017 and offers a 12-year education to Chinese nationals, blending the best of East and West with a unique curriculum developed by Chinese and international education experts. Part of a larger international school group, the school boasts excellent facilities, including a swimming pool, theatre, gymnasium, science and design laboratories, and more. Western and Chinese teachers co-teach in this collaborative learning environment.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (Master’s degree an advantage) and be a qualified teacher with several years of successful teaching experience supporting students with additional learning needs. Experience in pastoral care (e.g., as a form tutor) and in a high-achieving school is highly desirable. Previous experience in an international school is preferred. Some proficiency in spoken Mandarin and the ability to adapt to Chinese culture while collaborating effectively with Chinese colleagues are also highly valued.
The school offers a generous remuneration package and assistance with visa and medical requirements for entry to China. The package includes salary, international medical insurance, accommodation, annual airfare allowance, and a gratuity payable after two years and annually thereafter. Initial contracts are for three years.
