An experienced and motivated English IGCSE and A-Level Teacher is sought to lead the English Department while teaching students across IGCSE and A-Level courses. The role also includes form tutor responsibilities, providing pastoral support and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader and collaborative educator, committed to delivering engaging, high-quality English lessons and driving curriculum development within the department. Applicants must be fully qualified teachers (holding a relevant BA plus PGCE, BEd, or equivalent) with a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at the secondary level.
Working here offers the rare opportunity to be part of a respected British independent school tradition while helping to shape one of Vietnam’s first full British-style boarding schools. Staff work on a modern, purpose-built campus with excellent facilities that support high-quality teaching, learning, and wellbeing, and benefit from a strong pastoral and boarding ethos that allows meaningful impact on students’ lives beyond the classroom. As the school grows, there are significant opportunities for professional development, leadership, and innovation, all within an international community. Combined with a lower cost of living, striking natural surroundings, and a distinctive cultural experience in northern Vietnam, this role offers both professional fulfilment and an appealing lifestyle.
The school’s location in Lào Cai offers a distinctive and appealing place to live and work, particularly for those who value space, nature, and a slower pace of life. Set in northern Vietnam near mountains and national parks, the area provides easy access to outdoor activities, cooler temperatures than much of the country, and striking scenery, while still having the essential amenities of a provincial city. The cost of living is significantly lower than in major urban centres like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, allowing for a comfortable lifestyle and good savings potential. While it is quieter and less cosmopolitan than Vietnam’s largest cities, this is often seen as a positive by staff seeking focus, community, and balance, making it a strong fit for educators who enjoy immersion, wellbeing, and a close-knit professional environment.
