The school is seeking an experienced and compassionate educational leader to join the Secondary Senior Leadership Team as Deputy Principal of Secondary (Pastoral Care) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role focuses on leading and coordinating all aspects of student welfare, wellbeing, and personal development across the Secondary School.
Working collaboratively with the other Deputy Principals, the Head of the Academic Centre, and the Head of Student Support Services under the guidance of the Principal, the Deputy Principal (Pastoral Care) will play a key role in promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school culture aligned with the school’s mission and IB philosophy.
Skills and Qualifications
* Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
* Has at least five years of leadership experience within a secondary school setting
* Possesses strong understanding and experience with the IB Diploma Programme
* Demonstrates the ability to lead, inspire, and manage teams effectively
* Exhibits excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
* Shows a commitment to ongoing professional development

Key Responsibilities
* Leads the pastoral care and wellbeing programmes across the Secondary School under the guidance of the Head of School
* Promotes a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture in line with the IB Learner Profile and school values
* Develops, implements, and regularly reviews pastoral care and safeguarding policies to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and IB standards
* Oversees the consistent application of policies relating to student welfare, discipline, and wellbeing
* Designs and coordinates an effective induction programme to support new students in integrating into the school community
* Identifies and organises training and professional development for staff related to pastoral care, safeguarding, and student support
* Keeps up to date with current research and best practices in wellbeing, safeguarding, and adolescent development
* Collaborates with the school service centre, student affairs office, and parent committees to ensure a cohesive approach to student health, safety, and wellbeing
* Represents and promotes the school’s pastoral programme through community events, Parent College workshops, marketing initiatives, newsletters, and assemblies
* Ensures all pastoral initiatives comply with IB and accreditation requirements
