Key Responsibilities:
To work with the Head of Social and Emotional Counselling to:
• Support students individually or through groups to develop their emotional/social skills and mental health;
• Provide individual or group counselling to students with identified needs and concerns;
• Implement effective referral to outside agencies and follow-up process as needed;
• Provide appropriate information to school staff and parents whilst respecting students’ confidentiality;
• Implement programmes to improve and enhance student and staff well-being at the High School;
• Offer appropriate training to staff and parents to help them better support our students through adolescence.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field required, advanced degree(s) preferred
2. 3+ years experience from an accredited School
3. Major in Psychology or related
4. School working experience in psychology counselling
5. Valid School Psychology Counsellor Certificate, mid level or above
6. Valid teaching certification is mandatory
7. Teaching Degree strongly preferred
8. Experience with second language learners preferred
9. Bi-lingual ability (English and Mandarin Chinese) preferred but not required
10. Educators who show a devotion to their subject matter but also have a genuine interest in working with young men and women
11. Educators with excellent communication skills, who show initiative and who can easily adapt to change
