The ideal candidate would also be willing to become involved in the wider life of the school including in the very full co-curricular programme of over 100 different activities which are offered each week.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (advanced degree(s) preferred), evidence of on-going counselling experience and regular supervision, expertise in and a passion for adolescent mental health and well-being and a genuine interest in working with teenagers, the ability and desire to work collaboratively with other pastoral staff whilst retaining professional confidentiality, excellent communication skills, the ability to take the initiative and the flexibility to deal with change, and enthusiasm, energy, empathy and resilience. They should also ideally have experience of working in an International School or a multi‐cultural setting and experience with second language learners. Bi‐lingual ability (English and Mandarin Chinese) would be an advantage.
With over 1500 students from both within China and overseas, the School offers a unique Year 1-12 educational programme that integrates elements of Shanghai and international curricula, culminating with the IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme, complemented by core components from the Shanghai curriculum. The school brings together the best elements of Eastern and Western cultures and is known for it's Chinese language and cultural programmes and co-Teacher/co-Principal team teaching structure.
They pay competitive salaries and benefits that include airfare allowance, housing allowance and medical insurance.
