The Elementary School Vice Principal (CA) provides key instructional and administrative leadership, working closely with the Elementary Principal to ensure high academic standards, student wellbeing, and smooth daily operations aligned with the school’s mission and WASC expectations. The role focuses on fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment through restorative practices, strong student culture, and safeguarding standards. Responsibilities include mentoring and coaching teachers, supporting inquiry-based learning and the Understanding by Design framework, using data to drive improvements in literacy, numeracy, and behaviour, and overseeing daily operations such as scheduling, assessments, and events. The Vice Principal also builds strong partnerships with parents, supports staff wellbeing, ensures smooth student transitions, and models professionalism and accountability across the elementary school community.
Candidates should have the following education, skills and qualifications:
● Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (Elementary level preferred).
● Proven experience in a leadership or middle-management role (e.g., Coordinator, Grade-level Leader)
● Bachelor's degree in Education ● Master's degree in Education or Educational Leadership.
● PGCE or equivalent teaching certification.
