We are looking for a Head of a TEFL Centre (with a teaching load) in Shenzhen. The Head Teacher will teach up to a maximum of 70 regular teaching hours per month. In addition, they may be asked to perform other irregular teaching duties including, but not limited to: demo classes; make up classes; covering sick or absent teachers; and helping with marketing events. The maximum combined regular and irregular teaching hours should not exceed the contracted 100 hours per month. During the months of Summer and Winter Camps, regular teaching hours may be increased as per the contract.

Since opening their first centre in Ningbo in 2014, this English Language Centre has been bringing reading, writing and 21st century skills to children in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Shenzhen, both on campus at their affiliate international school, and in purpose designed centres off-campus. Founded as a solution to the problems that students and parents faced in their international school education, they now welcome students from a range of educational backgrounds, ages and levels, from as young as 5 up to 15 years old. Students arrive at the centres either after their regular school day ends, or on their weekends.

Candidates should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in education, applied linguistics, TESOL, communication, etc., hold a TEFL Diploma certificate and preferably CELTA or DELTA certificate, understand the principles and theories of second language acquisition and be able to transfer in the classroom, be familiar with training center operations and have worked as a manager before or in a senior role that involves coaching others. They should also have good communication and organization skills and have no criminal record.

Teachers are paid a competitive salary based on their qualification, teaching experiences and performance during the interview. They are also provided with the following benefits::

e.Monthly Teaching Service Bonus: RMB 500/month(before tax) since your second year of employment and an additional 500RMB for each subsequent year.

g.10 days paid annual leave, which increase with each year of service, total up to 15 days; 1 day of paid sick leave/month; one day-off for Christmas, statutory holidays with pay every calendar year during the contract period (over 11 days/year) in accordance with Chinese government regulations.
