This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced and capable PYP teacher with previous coordination experience to develop and build a PYP programme from scratch. Working initially on an impressive temporary site, the successful candidate will be a key leader in the school’s pedagogical development. The successful candidate will be central to establishing a shared ownership and understanding of the school’s distinctive and innovative vision, mission, beliefs and values whilst also leading and developing a shared understanding of the PYP framework.

As a key member of the school leadership team you will have the opportunity to establish, build and lead a PYP programme through its candidacy and authorisation phases and build a legacy which will continue to serve the future students of Hong Kong.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
• A recognized teaching degree (e.g., B.Ed., PGDE) and a valid teaching license.
• Must be a registered teacher, or be eligible for registration, with the Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) .
• A minimum of 12 years of primary school teaching experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Familiarity and significant experience with the coordination of an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP),
• The IB training required for the position, (and preferably IBEN approved.)
• A pioneering mindset with a resilient, flexible, and positive "can-do" attitude suited to a founding school.
• Familiarity with the Shanghai-based Chinese and Mathematics curriculum is an advantage.
• Experience working and teaching in a bi-lingual and/or co-teaching environment
• Deep commitment to working with students and their families
• Understanding of the challenges and rewards of working in bi-lingual environments
