FEMALE PRIMARY TEACHER FOR OMAN - AUGUST 2022

Location: Suwaiq between Sohar and Muscat
School Type: Mainly Omani Nationals with some expatriates
Age Range: Primary

Position: Primary English Teacher for Grades 1 and 2 - this is not a homeroom position
Curriculum: Cambridge UK

Qualifications: Bachelor of Education with Qualified teacher status / Bachelor of English with QTS maybe considered
Experience: A minimum of 2 years is required as per Ministry regulations
Curriculum Background: UK experience is highly desirable but others will be considered
Sponsorship: A woman cannot sponor her husband as per Ministry regulations

Salary: OMR1100 per month tax free
Accommodation: Free - furnished shared 3 bed appartment (own bedroom) - this option has worked very well with existing staff who like to promote internationalism in the school

Benefits for family: None - school would like single applicants due to accommodation status

It is a small school of 300 mainly locatl children so it will suit someone who is happy to thrive in a smaller multi-cultural setting away from the hustle and bustle of larger cities. It certainly beckons the adventurous as Oman strongly delivers for the outdoors types attracting those who would explore mountains, deserts and rocky coastlines.

Regional Info:
The school is located in a coastal town called Suwaiq which is between Sohar (30 minutes by car) to the north and Muscat (50 minutes by car) to the south. Dubai is 3 hours away and Al Ain between 1-2 hours. Suwaiq is a remoter location but it has easy access to these other locations for weekend trips; car rental, taxis and busese are readily available. The local town is close to the beach and has good grocery and eating amenties for day to day living. Hotel beach clubs can be found in Sohar. Check out the tourist website for local adventures and cultural sight seeing. This is not the day to day city lover.
