We are seeking an experienced and outstanding Head of Senior School Learning Support to join a high-performing and collaborative team.
Duties and responsibilities
• To work effectively as a member of the Senior School team, establishing and maintaining good relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
• To take responsibility for implementing the school'spolicies and practices.
• To assess, administer and evaluate student achievement and progress for identified students.
• To use data analysis effectively to contribute to student improvement for identified students.
• To plan effectively to ensure identified students are supported to meet their potential, notwithstanding differences of race and gender.
• To assess, record and monitor each student’s progress in line with the school's expectations.
• To report student progress to parents regularly, both in written form and at parent consultation days/evenings.
• To ensure high quality learning experiences are available to students.
• To use learning and teaching strategies that keep students engaged through effective questioning, lively presentation, and good use of resources.
• To create a safe and stimulating learning environment that supports learning and in which students feel secure and confident.
• To organise, attend and supervise school-based activities/trips.
• To be a positive role model to the students taught through personal and professional conduct.
• To take responsibility for professional development, including Performance Management and Professional Learning procedures.
• To manage a dedicated classroom assistant for Learning Support, involving them where appropriate with the planning and delivery of students’ learning.
• To contribute to the formulation and implementation of the DCB and Senior School Improvement Plans and associated Learning Action Plans, as appropriate.
• To contribute to the school’s weekly enrichment (CCA) programme.
• To contribute to parent workshops and provide parents with curriculum outlines, as necessary.
• To play a full part in the life of the school community and support our ethos.
Candidates must have:
•At least two years post qualification experience
•Bachelor or above degree
•PGCE or QTS, Teaching License from non-UK countries
