A prestigious private school in Dubai are looking for the best teachers who have solid English National Curriculum teaching experience, promotion in post and consistency in a school.
The school seeks a specialist for an exciting opportunity within this unique teaching environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school’s ecoliteracy and sustainability vision, and will work as part of a team, to ensure that this pervades all aspects of the curriculum, learning and teaching, and the way that the staff and community conceive schooling. Integrated with the rigorous expectations of the English National Curriculum, the curriculum of the school is a blend of a knowledge rich curriculum, delivered using constructivist approaches that nurture competencies learners need to care for themselves, for others and for the environment. This includes a critical focus on inquiry and place-based styles learning. The successful applicant will lead the delivery of activities and courses outside of the classroom for students in years 4 through 9, utilising the school’s extraordinary learning spaces. The successful candidate would also be required to lead in the implementation of an ecological based GCSE course for all KS4 students.
Essential Attributes
Native-level English language skills
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent, with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with QTS or equivalent teaching license or certificate
A minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching, preferably with experience in a through school setting, as well as in settings outside the classroom
A passion for the environment
Experience teaching with plants and animals
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent writing and communication skills
Working understanding of and experience using a range of technology tools in teaching and learning
Willingness to work outside in hot weather
Preferred Attributes
Experience designing, delivering and evaluating standards-based, environmental education units for learners ages 10 – 16
A track record of outstanding GSCE examination results in an ecologically based course
Experience designing, organizing and leading learning experiences outside the classroom, including overnight and extended residential field trips
Experience establishing and managing collaborations with community partners.
Experience designing, delivering and evaluating participatory learning experiences in and/or about the environment for educators.
Knowledge of the ecology of the Arabian Peninsula

• AED10,000 – 15,000 depending on relevant years’of experience (£2000 to £2900) tax free plus end of service gratuity
