Regional Info:
The school will be in BSD City, Serpong, an area within Greater Jakarta to the South West of the city centre. BSD City has a total area of about 6,000 hectares, with amenities that include houses, apartments, sporting facilities, offices, malls, educational establishments. .Jakarta is the world’s 4th most populated city, and is dynamic, vibrant and diverse with plenty to do and see within a welcoming community of locals and people from different parts of the world. For an easy weekend escape there are the Thousand Islands within easy reach. This chain of 110 islands is just off the north coast of Jakarta with the closest being just 20 minutes by speedboat. 36 of these islands may be used for recreation; the rest are either home to resorts, historic parks, are privately owned or are not open to the public. Others are either uninhabited or support a fishing village. Indonesia consists of a collection of over 18,000 islands although only one third of these are inhabited. Incredibly diverse in language and culture, each island has a different personality and ethnic makeup. From the skyscrapers of Jakarta to the serene island of Kanawa, Indonesia is a hard country to categorise! There is an abundance of places to visit and explore and island hopping is a major past time. You can visit the idyllic Gili Island beaches, see the dragons of Komodo island, feed orangutans at the sanctuary, relax in Bali and surf, snorkel, dive, swim or sail to your hearts content from almost anywhere. The list is really too vast to even try to do it justice.
