Top American/IB School : Director of Teaching and Learning - Hanoi, Vietnam - Start: August 2026
This is a relatively new, premium, co-educational K-12 international day school that opened in August 2024 and ofer the IB PYP, IB MYP and IB DP. Class sizes are small and about 20 pupils per class. There are two campuses comprising of an Early Childhood Division (ECD) and a Main Campus (Grades 1-12). Both campuses are state-of-the-art with stunning facilities.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of School, and working also in conjunction with the Head of Lower, Middle and High School, this principal-level position is a strategic response to meet the school’s needs toward its goal of excellence in teaching and learning.
The Director for Teaching and Learning (DTL) ensures articulation, alignment and collaboration from Early Years to Grade 12 in the development of the teaching and learning programme at the school. The DTL provides leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of the curriculum and resources as well as the faculty staff professional growth and staff evaluation programme. This position will help support the accreditation efforts of the school.
Responsibilities
•Provide strong leadership and clear educational direction
•Actively support the mission and values of the school.
•Collaborate with the Head of School regarding the status of curriculum and professional learning.
Develop and manage a comprehensive budget for the Teaching and Learning Office.
•Collaborate with the Head of School, Divisional Leadership, the IB Coordinators, and other relevant positions to ensure the articulation, alignment and coordination of the overall program and to inspire a cohesive teaching and learning ethos at the School .
•Lead the review and development of a whole school approach to serving the needs of EAL learners.
•Work with Divisional leadership to monitor program effectiveness. Lead the review and development of a whole school approach to serving the needs of a Learning Support program.
•Supervise and support the learning support staff throughout the school.
Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Educational Administration and/or Curriculum.
•Knowledge of contemporary educational research, teaching pedagogy, and emerging technologies.
•5+ years of experience working in a similar leadership role (level equivalent to a Principal).
•Excellent communication and organizational skills.
•Dedication and commitment to the learning and growth of students.
•A sense of humor.
•Experience in faculty and administrator recruitment, retention, supervision, and evaluation.
•Knowledge and understanding of the IB PYP, MYP, and DP programmes.
•Experience in the supervision of academic program development and facilitating implementation of strategic initiatives.
•Experience in a senior role at a similarly sized school is preferred.
•Experience in an international school Asia Pacific setting is preferred.

*Provided Monthly: The housing allowance, quoted in contracts, is paid along with salary and is taxed at the same rate as salary. Teachers are not required to produce rental evidence to receive the allowance, and may live for whatever rental amount they choose, or contribute to a mortgage.
