The prime responsibility of the Deputy Head of Boarding is to assist the Head of Boarding to provide a welcoming, safe and secure environment for all boarders. The Deputy Head of Boarding will work collaboratively with the Head of Boarding to oversee the wellbeing and welfare of our boarders and oversee the management of daily operations, rosters and leadership of staff in the Boarding House when the Head of Boarding is not present. After-hours and weekend work is required to meet the requirements of the role.

The Deputy Head of Boarding will also be responsible for designing and planning the weekend boarding programme for full boarders as well as running the Duke of Edinburgh programme. The teaching responsibility in taking CCA activities, will be allocated based on the school's needs.

The position is residential, and the post holder will be required to live in the accommodation as specified by the Head of Boarding during term time and contribute to all duties while pupils are living in school. In periods of absence from the House during term time, the post holder will arrange cover and all such absences should be pre-approved by the Head of Boarding.

BASIC QUALIFICATION
Bachelor's degree or above; Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a middle leadership position
Previous experience of working in a Boarding house
First-Aid qualification
