Academic Director – Schools Group, Guangzhou
A Schools Group in Guangzhou is seeking an experienced Academic Director to lead the development and implementation of high-quality educational programmes across its schools. This senior leadership role will drive curriculum excellence, enhance teaching standards, and support professional growth for staff across all campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the evaluation and improvement of teaching quality across the Group.
* Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and continuous enhancement of academic systems.
* Design and deliver professional development programmes for teachers.
* Support recruitment and mentoring of academic staff.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to implement innovative teaching initiatives and Group-wide policies.
* Ensure compliance with IB and other accreditation standards where relevant.
Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree or above, preferably in Education,
* Evidence of ongoing personal professional learning including some of the following: membership of professional associations, conference attendance, completion of short courses, school or programme evaluation (on behalf of accrediting organizations)
* Evidence of ongoing professional outreach, including some of the following: presentations or facilitation at conferences, workshops, and seminars; formal coaching or mentoring of staff; membership of systemic or regional committees which plan and deliver professional learning
* Has been a member of a Senior Leadership Team in a school or has been a senior member of a research, professional learning, or curriculum development team in an educational organization
*The school are specifically seeking candidates who have demonstrated experience working within bilingual or international school contexts in China. This on-the-ground experience is essential for leaders who can genuinely understand, navigate, and bridge the educational and cultural expectations of both East and West.
