Edvectus works directly with our client school’s HR and Senior Leadership teams, and they know that we only present applications we feel are truly suited to a job, school and region. This means that they pay more attention to our applications. When we present your application, when possible we send confidential references and our own recommendation tailored to the region and job. We also let you know if we think a job is not right for you – if you don’t have the experience or qualifications a school really wants to see, saving you wasted time and effort. We try to be transparent and honest in all of our dealings with teachers and schools.
We do not work with every international school in the world, but those we do work with value our judgement and professionalism.
It’s been a real pleasure to work with Abby and the Edvectus Team to help with the recruitment needs of a Founding International School. The quality of Edvectus candidates have been excellent who have settled into school life quickly and have become valued members of our ISA Liwan Learning Community. I enjoy reading the profiles of candidates and the level of professional support from Edvectus has been fast and outstanding. I feel the Edvectus Team has a thorough understanding of the type of candidates that we are seeking to ensure great matches! I will look forward to working with Edvectus as our School continues to develop and grow. – M Urquhart, Head of ISA Liwan school, China
When you register with Edvectus and work with us to find a job, you will have a consultant to work with you and advise you through the process. From fixing your CV to prepping for interview, our team of professional recruitment consultants, many of whom are internationally experienced ex-teachers, will help guide you, tailor your applications and let you know how your chances are for each job. We are very much a human-led company, rather than an automated board.
International school jobs outside of your home country require you to obtain work authorisation from your new employer. In most countries the Ministries of Education and Immigration offices require you to have certain qualifications and experience to qualify and sometimes have minimum/maximum age restrictions, but they are different for every country. Additionally, each job comes with an employment package, which can include things like housing, flights and family benefits.
We prequalify you against what packages our clients are offering, what their experience requirements are, and what the countries immigration rules are to help your applications land where they have the best chance, and our client schools only receive applications from teachers they can legally hire.
A CV, or Curriculum Vitae is another word for a resume. They are all the same thing. They all have three important sections for international teachers looking for jobs:
- Your name, contact details and other personal information (often nationality, date of birth, marital/dependent status)
- Details of your tertiary (university) education, and teacher training/certifications
- Your full work history – a list of employers, when you worked for them, what job you did and any awards/accomplishments in your jobs
As we are a company headquartered in the UK with offices around the world, we typically use the UK term CV.
We know writing a CV is difficult especially because you don’t know what potential employers are looking for… but we do! We have a great web page full of hints and top tips, and a short video that tells you what you need to know.
It’s quite simple. We are a British company and abide by UK data protection rules. You are in full control of your data.
When you register, you will create an account on our Candidate Portal, and you can update and change your information through it. You will be able to customise and set up job alerts, apply for jobs, upload or change documents, change your contact info, personal and professional details, communicate with your consultant and more.
Through the portal, at the bottom of the first page you can put job search on hold, or completely delete your information altogether.
If you delete your profile, it will delete all the documentation and information we have. The only exceptions are legitimate legal reasons – we are required to keep a record of when we send your profile to a school within a timeframe indicated by agreements with the school, or if we place you in a job, or if we believe there is a safeguarding issue.
