This new school (which opened in January 2015) is located in Guangzhou, in southern China, two hours by train to Hong Kong. They opened initially with just an Early Years and Primary section but due to rapid expansion have expanded to include the middle years. From August 2018 they will need two qualified and experienced Teachers to work as 'supply teachers across' the EY and Primary age range. The teachers will perform extra supervison duties, and teach very small classes of children with lower levels of English or Maths. They would prefer one male and one female, with at least 5 years of experience and it would be a bonus if one had some SXEN experience.

The school delivers a bilingual programme for local and foreign children, with a 60:40 split (English: Chinese) in the Early Years and Primary Programme. Each foreign teacher has a Chinese Teacher and a Teaching Assistant attached to his/her class.

They look for teachers with inquiry based experience and a strong grounding in child centred teaching. They like singles or teaching couples but they can take teachers with 1 child (or teaching couples with 2).They are looking for energetic teachers who are adaptable and open minded, exhibiting all aspects of the IB Learner Profile: Inquirers, Thinkers, Risk Takers, Caring, Balanced, Knowledgeable, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded and Reflective. All teaching and learning is based on an inquiry-driven model, starting with play-based learning in the Early Years and moving into project-based learning in Upper Primary and Middle Years. ISA is a genuine international school with generous resources, a generous salary and benefits. The apartments are first class and in nice "Western" areas. The bus brings teachers to and from school. There is an Australian Principal, Australian Head of Middle School and British Head of Primary. Salaries start from about RMB 340,000 depending on qualifications and experience plus accommodation, flights, medical insurance, travel allowance, professional development end of contract bonus and free tuition at the school for one staff child. https://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/comparison/london/guangzhou

The school is located in Southern China in Guangzhou, the largest city in the Guangdong province. In recent years, the city has developed a more cosmopolitan appearance with new shopping plazas, high rise buildings, a modern metro system and landscaped parks and road sides. It's a busy, lively city but parts of the cities have charm with restored churches, buildings and private residences. Having a major airport and being so close to Hong Kong opens up a world of travel opportunities from short weekend trips to longer treks around Asia in the holidays.
